I really wanted to love this salon. It was probably one of the first salons where the stylist sat face to face with me discussing what I wanted before even touching my hair, and I could see her imagining how to execute my vision. I thought we were both on the same page - I had even clearly written it in my appointment request details (long face framing layers, added volume, nothing too drastic from what I came in with). I explained that I wanted split ends chopped off, but I wanted to keep my hair long enough so that I could pull it all back in a ponytail without pieces falling out. I ended up leaving with a great haircut, but it just was not what I asked for. I left with curtain bangs - I didn’t even use those words during my appointment. I felt like although my stylist was listening to what I wanted at the beginning, I ended up leaving with the haircut that she wanted to give me. Again, it looks great - it’s just not what I asked for at all. I constantly have my hair up, and now I will have to spend additional time each morning styling the bangs and pinning them back. I did a lot of research on hair salons in the area and i really loved my time at PHD, but I am definitely disappointed with my end result. I am willing to give this salon another try in the future, but definitely a little hesitant.
I went to this hair salon in hopes to get a dream result. I had long grown out brown roots that I really wanted to get rid of. I agreed to the high pricing of everything, because the place seemed really nice and has amazing reviews. I went in and Kat and her assistant did my hair , they are both super friendly and nice people. I said multiple times to Kate that I don’t want any brown roots at all because they are so long. The hair came out not looking bad , but there is one thing it’s not different from what I came with, the roots are still so long and brown, and again I mentioned that I wanted the roots more blonde at the beginning of the process. I had such high hopes because this was supposed to be my graduation hair. I paid $96 just for a little trim. It total $350 and there is a slight difference before and after. I’m very disappointed and felt like I just wasted so much money for nothing. Definitely not worth it. Side note: multiple people in my family who know a lot about hair asked me “Did anything even change”.
Back for a conditioning treatment, trim, and a bang update! Hair feels great! looooove the new bangs! I feel younger! Kate really listened and gave me such a great look. Also got to enjoy their cute waiting area in the garden out back! Update- another fabulous experience! Kate really nailed the completely new look I wanted! She and Camila worked so well together, my blow out portion of the appt was a movie moment! 10/10 would recommend!
I honestly held off on writing a review for a long time, but during the pandemic, I decided to go to a hairstylist at this salon. While this stylist is no longer there, the balayage that he did FRIED my hair to the point that I had white dot split ends on all of my hair from the cuticle being exposed. I did my best to try to keep going to him, but this salon brought me a lot of anxiety and I felt very uncomfortable on multiple occasions. When I did mention it to the owner via text and over the phone, it was cold and negative tone. When I did go to another more reputable hairstylist and hair salon in horror of the state of my hair, he was pretty shocked at what horrible condition my hair was in from those highlights. Needless to say, I spent a lot of money on salon treatments elsewhere to restore the health of my hair in addition to products. While I know this individual no longer works there, it took a long time for the health of my hair to be restored.
Joseph gave me the perfect color and blowout- this blowout is incredible! And the highlights are at the perfect areas of my hair. He is also very knowledgeable about all the specific tools that you would need for your hair texture and styling.
